About

For my tenth birthday I received a box of watercolours and I’ve been painting ever since… In 2013 , after years working as a Marketing Manager, I began to pursue a full-time career as an Contemporary Landscape Artist. These days my work is mostly done using hog hair brushes and palette knifes. In a style that is characterised by loose ‘painterly’ brushwork, variety of texture, and richness of colour. I develop a painting in an intuitive way and react to what happens during its making. The atmosphere comes through working, and often involves chance. This can be frustrating but I enjoy being surprised…For me painting is all about exploring the elemental oneness of light and colour that manifests the shapes and forms that surround us. I would describe my painting as organic impressionistic with degrees of abstraction.Self taught: I developed my style in the time honoured tradition of Van Gogh, Gauguin, Bacon etc – by doing it. Lessons learned and unlearned and discovered by myself, for myself.A Member of The SSA.My paintings are held in private collections in UK, Sweden, and America.
